Update, update.

Thu Jun 11, 2009, 6:27 PM
Seeing that I have not dropped in to update my profile for some time, well, let me just update this page with some of the pictures I've taken in between. From Studio Days (wait, I don't even know whether I uploaded them or not) to my most recent Sungei Buloh pics. Yes, the good proof that photography is not only heavy lifting, it's blood sucking work. (I had stings all over my body by mosquitoes at the reserve and is now officially a walking malaria risk.)

I guess the most recent highlight would be my trip to Malaysia, though I've been to these places year after year, I always find something new to shoot, some new insights on my own style.

As some of you might have realised, I like shooting landscapes and people. A lot. What more, I found out I have a passion for old things too. George town was the perfect place for me. Despite my short stay in Penang, I've seen more than what I've hoped for. I'll be sharing some of the 800 pictures I took in my Malaysia trip this year, and I hope you guys like it.

Devious Journal Entry

Wed Oct 22, 2008, 8:06 PM
Hi yall,

I'm finally back after sooooo long because, well, my classmate Jeanette asked me to see some portfolios here and I just decided to log in and check things out on my account. I'm happy to see things are still kicking and alive in here.

Ok updates:
My website is currently under construction, and that's because I'm rather lazy to update my portfolio through the tedious ways of freewebs.com. Yes, so now I'm using iWeb to redo everything, also because I'm too lazy to use other Adobe professional software.

And yes, I'm still the President of Alumni Society of MJC Photography (*pant* wad a long name) and also the founder of it, incredibly proud of myself. But rather tiring in fact, consolidating powers and what not, making my VP and (loyal) committee members to see the way that I do, and addressing their concerns.

Very difficult indeed.

On top of that, I'm a full time undergrad at NTU, which makes me even more unfree....

And then, I'm also scanning film for other people as a sideline.

Which makes me super unfree.

Lastly, I sold my stupid D40 and will soon to upgrade to a D300.

Sometimes I think dA is crap.
Anyway.
I can't remember when I've stopped visiting this site, even my own gallery page. And yeah, I don't bother checking out deviations. Unless I'm really bored. If I ever drop by and say Hi, that's when I'm really bored.

Like now.

Been really busy with getting ready for my new school term at NTU, not really sure what to expect... but at least one of my ex-colleagues from MRC will be with me, I hope.

Apart from that, I'm feeling damned messed up about my Singapore exhibition. Everything's in place and ready to go, but there are just some nagging things that can be improved. But I really have no time for that. ARGH.

Sometimes I wished people just listened for instructions, and it's difficult when you don't it to them face to face. And being accused of not making it clear. IT WAS SO DAMN CLEAR! WHAT WASNT CLEAR? Do I have to chase for everything? Idiots.

Film VS Digital

Sun Mar 9, 2008, 5:57 AM
After winning my D40, I took it on a round trip and I realised that it isnt as nice as using my FM2... I've been too used to using my manual baby and have more less mastered the art of controlling my camera to get what I want. But since I got this D40, it seemed that I have become and idiot all over again. Everything auto auto auto, auto until only need to click, don't even need to think. GAH. I hate that feeling.

As sensors are now built with the 35mm frame size as standard, film cameras are natural full frame cameras. Colours differ with the different film used and I sensors cant get the kind of colour and contrast that can come with slide film... Sighs... I still love film...
